Although President Trump has not implemented any changes regarding the policies of climate change, various media outlets have voiced their concerns of the abolishment of the idea that climate change is happening within the world. When the Trump administration changed the national website about climate change to online archive, this change sparked controversy among media outlets such as BBC news and MSNBC. Matt McGrath, an environmental consultant, voiced his concerns regarding Trump’s radical change for climate change policies within the United States of America. The Trump administration stated, “Our goal is to reduce the unnecessary policies from the Climate Action Plan.”

However, if Trump were to denationalize these plans, there would be no national plan to reduce carbon emissions, which are detrimental towards the environment. In fact, Trump plans to change the focus of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to “focus on protecting our water and air.” This statement does not reveal exactly how the EPA plans to conduct this, so it seems that many of these national service projects are being postponed or even discontinued.
Because of this radical proposition, many supporters of climate change are not content with the manipulation of this agency, which aids research and conducts projects that can potentially reduce pollution in our air. McGrath goes further to speculate that “EPA will be no longer undergoing operations in the near future.”

Additionally, Trump appears to be advocating for construction of two oil pipelines that can potentially cause carbon dioxide emissions in the air. Instead of shifting to cleaner forms of energy, Trump wants to use the potential of the oil-rich areas in the Midwest and thus stimulate an economic boom within the US. However, this is not a progressive move towards the advancement of cleaning the environment.

Rather, this will add more of a burden for future generations of Americans who will live in a more polluted environment, and the quality of life will be reduced significantly since the air will contain toxins and hazardous substances that can deteriorate our bodies. In addition to this, the wildlife in the surrounding areas close to the oil pipelines can be contaminated, thus altering the animal’s way of life and causing problems such as massive depopulation or mutations of the animals themselves.

We should keep the policies that have been established by the Climate Action Plan, so we can progress towards a cleaner future. In this way, the Earth will be healthier not only for us, but also for future generations of Americans.
