Summer Activities
Although the weather does not feel quite right yet, summer break is just around the corner. Summer is supposed to be full of fun and relaxation, so here are a few ideas of things you can do to make the most of your break this year.
1. Go to the Beach
Living in California, we have so many beautiful beaches at our fingertips. It would be a shame to just let them go to waste. Why not take your friends out for a field day and have some fun in the sun? There is so much to do at the beach. You can lay out on the sand, soaking up the warm rays, and then take a dip in the refreshing water. You and your friends can walk around, explore the local area, and find some cool places to eat too!
2. Go Hiking
There are so many great spots here in Southern California to explore the outdoors. Even if you do not usually get out of the house, it can still be a lot of fun. Going on hikes is a cool and immersive way to connect with nature and get in a good workout. Make sure you pack a lot of water and snacks though. It is always good to be safe and stay hydrated.
3. Take Up Gardening
Though it may not seem possible out here in the Antelope Valley, you can find a lot of plants that will do well in this kind of heat. Succulents are especially easy since they don’t need much water. You can start your own small garden, indoors or outdoors, that can keep you busy having fun all throughout the summer.
4. Host a Pool Party
Pool parties are the perfect way to cool down and chill out with friends at home. You can go big and invite tons of people or just stick with a few pals. Either way, pool parties are always fun. You can hang out, listen to music, swim, and have a bunch of really good snacks and drinks. Pool parties are pretty much the staple of every teenage summer and for good reason. They are always a good time.
5. Express Yourself
If you are feeling especially creative this summer, or if you just want to become more in tune with your artistic side, you can spend time working on fun arts and crafts activities. This can be as simple as making a cool collage or as intricate as painting a hyper realistic portrait of one of your friends. Any kind of artistic expression is good for you, and it can be so much fun.
So, there you have it folks: your new plans for the summer. Be sure to try at least one of these out. There are so many fun things you can do over the summer, so go out there and have some fun under the sun.
