Once again, the people of Earth must completely change an idea that has been pounded into their brain ever since they were little. No longer can we possess the same mindset that we did yesterday. With this discovery, everything has changed, and nothing will be the same. “What is this breakthrough?” you may be asking yourself. Well, I’m surprised you haven’t heard about it already. To make a long story short, researchers have discovered that our beloved planet is not, as popularly believed, round. And no, it is not flat either (sorry, conspiracists). The Earth is, in fact, scoop shaped.

So, we were wrong about our planet’s shape… again. While further researching the flight of airplanes and other airborne technology, aeronautics have discovered that these objects could not take flight if the Earth were round. “It simply would not make sense any other way,” says esteemed aerospace engineer Glenn Curtiss. When studying the way planes transverse plains, they discovered that air could not flow over the curved surface of the wings unless it were coming from a location that similarly curved upwards. If the Earth were round, the air would be surrounding an object that is inversely curled. If this were the case, the pressures around each wing would be incorrect, and therefore, the airplane could not fly. Research of other flying objects have also come to this conclusion.

Furthermore, a group of geologists have confirmed that the Earth is, in fact, scoop shaped. So, now the question remains: How was this not known? There are many theories that have been created to try and answer this question. Perhaps when the Round Earth theory came out, it was blindly believed, just as the Flat Earth theory was. Maybe the government is hiding something from us. The answer is still unclear. For now, we can take solace in the fact that this article is a sham. April Fools!
