Once again, the annual Antelope Valley Fair has returned, drawing in many people from all over the County. The 78th AV Fair commenced on August 19th, carrying along a variety of exciting rides, vendors, and shows. Visitors had a chance to experience the livelihood of the Antelope Valley and enjoy the attractions with family and friends.

This year, the AV Fair runs from Friday the 19th to Sunday the 28th, primarily operating from noon until late at night. It is one of the Antelope Valley’s most popular events, as it accumulates visitors from many places and cities in California. This fair boasts everything from live shows to pig races.

Numerous carnival rides take place in the Antelope Valley Fair, including the Tilt-A-Whirl, the Zipper Rollercoaster, and even the classic Ferris Wheel. Children can even ride horses and camels, which are other popular attractions. There are many activities for people of all ages to participate in.

Oshini Cooray, who attended the fair, said, “The most memorable part of my experience was going on the rides with my friends and screaming my head off. G-Force was probably the most popular ride. It was a two-seater ride that spun around like a windmill.” Rides similar to G-Force had crowds lining up for a chance to ride them.

In addition to carnival rides, food vendors can be found at almost every turn. All types of foods, from sizzling hot dogs to crispy funnel cakes, are available. Plenty of cooks even come to showcase their skills with hopes to win a prize in the contests.

“I think the Italian Gelato place was the most popular. It was popular because you cannot really find gelato around here,” stated Brandon Garcia, who visited the fair with friends. The Italian Gelato vendor offered a variety of flavors, including cinnamon gelato, which was what Brandon had bought.

Not only are there rides and vendors, there are also shows at the AV Fair. Singers, dancers, performers, and monster trucks come from all around the state to exhibit their talents. Singers as well known as Foreigner are performing at the Antelope Valley Fair. Tickets can be found online.

Semma Hadaya, who went to the fair on Sunday the 21st, said, “It was very fun and I was excited to hang out with my friends.”

The Fair is an excellent opportunity to see what the AV is all about. Experience the amazing celebration and take pleasure in what the Valley has to offer. Whether it is to catch up with friends and family or to just have fun, the Antelope Valley Fair is the place to visit for a fantastic time!
