Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

As a sequel to the first movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume Two was hugely successful in box offices around the world. On May 5th, thousands of people lined up to watch the highly-anticipated second chapter of the superhero team’s adventures.

Throughout the film, viewers experience emotions of both joy and sadness. The characters are so hilarious that anyone with a sense of humor will be in tears from laughing so hard during the movie. The strong bond of friendship shown in the film creates a tone of love, but also sadness, towards the ending. This movie will put you on a rollercoaster of emotions..

The directors and producers of the film do an amazing job recreating these beloved comic book characters into a live action movie. The team of five combative superheroes from the last movie are brought back for the most part, as Groot is now in “baby form.” Vin Diesel voices Groot’s cute, animated character. Chris Pratt plays the character of Star-Lord and effectively combines comedy and action in his role. Zoe Saldana performs the role of Gamora, the adopted daughter of Thanos and the last of her species. Saldana expresses the character’s often-repressed emotions and stubborn personality extremely well. Dave Bautista takes on the role of Drax the Destroyer. His large body perfectly resembles the character, and his sense of humor also plays a big part in his character development. As for Rocket Racoon, Bradley Cooper voices over for the character and has the spirit that resembles the wild racoon.

One of my favorite scenes is the beginning sequence in which Groot is dancing and having fun in the middle of a battle. Groot just seems so carefree and cute! He is shown with the intelligence of a kid, which makes him even cuter. Also, towards the end of the movie, Groot has to decide which button to push on a detonator in order to save the lives of his friends. This part of the movie really shows the theme of friendship within the film. Even though Groot has the brain of a two-year-old, he still tries his best to figure out which button to push. In the end, the love for his friends directs him, and after a while of thinking, he pushes the right button.

If you are ever looking for an action and humor-packed movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the way to go. Grab your friends and watch the movie while it is still in theaters.
