On November 16, 2021, worldwide Marvel fans were thrilled about the release of the official trailer for the newest Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home. This movie is quite possibly one of the most anticipated movies of this year, and it’s primarily due to the incorporation of our favorite villains from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. Classic Spider-Man villains such as Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Sandman play a significant role in this movie. We also have villains from The Amazing Spider-Man series appear in the trailer, such as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. 

The trailer picks up directly from the ending of the last movie, where Peter Parker’s identity was revealed to the entire world as Spider-Man. As expected, his life was greatly affected, and it all became too much for our young superhero. Peter Parker reaches out to Doctor Strange to change the timeline before his identity was revealed. However, in changing the timeline, something goes gravely wrong, which causes characters from other universes to appear in this one. Peter Parker must defeat them before they wreak havoc in this universe. 

In the trailer, we can see Doc Ock revealing Spider-Man’s face; however, he was shocked to see that it was not the same Peter Parker from his universe. This is a direct link to Toby Maguire’s Spider-Man and led many fans to believe that due to the appearance of the old Spider-Man villains, it’s possible that Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield could also be present in this movie as Spider-man from other universes. We even see side characters such as John Jonah Jameson appear in the trailer, further adding hope to the fans. 

As expected from any Marvel film, we are presented with spectacular CGI in the trailer. The frame where Sand-Man, Electro, and The Lizard all appear together, shows the excellent job Marvel did once again regarding CGI. Tom Holland has also publicly stated that this movie could possibly be “the most cinematic and theatrical superhero movie that has ever been made.” Many fans have high expectations for this movie due to the exciting fight scenes. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has access to new technology that the Spider-Man from Andrew Garfield or Toby Maguire did not have while fighting their respective villains. Thus, many are excited to see how different the fights will go due to the new technology in the battles.
