Denise Keith, Staff Writer
Hi everyone! I’m Denise Keith, a junior and Quartz Hill. I joined because it sounded like I could use my creativity freely. I’ve been on the Quartz Hill High School Cheer Team for three years now, serving as captain during one of them. I’m so excited for Friday Night Lights and cheering at football games. This is my very first year of being on the Ubiquity team, as well as having a 0-period (which has taught me I’m not a morning person).
I’ve read over 6,000 books cover to cover, but I hate reading my giant history books (some mystery). I don’t have a favorite book or series, but I can say every single one of them has something interesting that stuck with me. Reading plays a big part in helping me stay creative and obtain knowledge in simple ways.
I have a busy schedule this year, but I’m hoping it pays off so I have time for a job and college applications during my senior year. I’m excited to try something new and explore journalism.
February 4, 2026 Update
Hi Royals! I’m back for a bio update. Cheer has been really eventful, we’ve gotten first place in three competitions so far. We’re heading to Vegas on the 19th to compete for two days and, hopefully, win the National Championship. As far as school goes, it’s been pretty stressful with multiple assignments a day, and I feel like I’m barely keeping up. I really like being busy, though, so I’m grateful. I’ve planned a few college visits, and I’m drafting ideas for my college essay. I’m liking journalism so far and have made creations I never thought I could.
