Hi, my name is Dillan Lacy! I am a senior at Quartz Hill High School, and this is my first year in Journalism. Being in Journalism has been exciting, and I feel like I learn something new every day. The class allows me to express myself through many creative formats, whether through articles or this personal bio.

Other than focusing on school, I have recently enjoyed playing the guitar. It helps me relax and have a nice break from the workload I have for school. One of my favorite activities is going on hikes and exploring what nature offers. The views and the beauty of the Mojave Desert are underrated compared to other more popular places worldwide. The best feeling is making it to the top of the mountain only to find another hill you need to climb.

January 30, 2023 Update

Hey Royals, this year has been a blast so far! As we go into the New Year, let us focus on the positives rather than our regrets. Senior year slammed me with the onset of the college season. Stressful days, sleepless nights, and a lot of vitamin water has led me to complete over 16 applications to various universities. After completing my college applications, I no longer worry about strict schedules and deadlines and feel accomplished. It is the same feeling as climbing a mountain and making it to the top. All I need to do now is get back down.

While thinking positively, listen to "Beyond The Wing," which transformed into a passion fueled by the desire for chicken. The "Beyond The Wing" podcast has led me to wonderful chicken places I would not have found without being in Journalism. All chicken places are up to the viewer's opinion, but the best ones are those you come back to visit. Even then, it is always best to try new ones. You never know what chicken you may find.

With that in mind, Royals, I hope you have a good year filled with positivity and relaxation, so make sure to take it easy on yourself.
