5. Enjoy Campus!
Qhhs has a beautiful campus, especially when there aren’t many people there, so I’d Recommend staying after school to enjoy campus!
4. Attend Games!
QHHS has some great sports teams, with football games, wrestling duels, and basketball games all being a great place to enjoy the rich sports culture that QHHS provides.
3. Participate in Peaceful Protest!
Recently, on February 6th 2025, Quartz Hill High school students organized as a collective group to leave campus and protest against the actions that ICE has been taking as of late. The group of around 200ish students all left at around 10:40 PST, with a majority of the students who walked out going to George Lane Park, then continuing on to 50th and L-8, before returning to George Lane park at around 2:00 in the afternoon. Public reaction to the protest was largely positive, with there being a generally positive atmosphere, save for a few people who decided to take time out of their day and either make obscene gestures towards the mostly teenaged protestors, or actively engaging in hateful speech towards those protesting students. Not cool dude! The students largely understood why they were protesting (thank goodness!). One student who I personally interviewed during the walkout, Sebastean Deplazes, said a couple of choice things about ice. He was very passionate about the whole protest, and he stated that he came out to protest due to “ICE shooting innocent people and deporting people without due process.” Another student, Julian Juarez Figueroa stated that he decided to come out and protest due to, “Trump… is a pedophile, and he’s doing really unjustified stuff that’s trying to be justified, and he’s also justifying … stuff that ICE is doing, and they (ICE) are killing people. ” This marks an important point in Quartz Hill’s history as there has not been a protest where students walk out of the school in such a manner before.
2. Go to class!
Going to class on campus is a great way to learn about the subject that you are taking during that class period!
1- Taker naps on the school benches
The administration doesn’t want you to know this, but if you sleep on the benches around campus, your GPA gets boosted by 1 WHOLE percent. If you don’t believe me, then try it!
