From AdHoc Studio comes a new episode-based game, Dispatch, a unique narrative-driven experience where you govern a dysfunctional team of outcast superheroes, guiding them through an office life where you make the calls and choose your path. Its long-awaited arrival has been put to rest, but it hasn’t all been released yet. With eight episodes to be released in total, since its initial release on October 22, 2025, AdHoc has been releasing two episodes per week to keep fans engaged and interested. With over 16,000 reviews just a week after release and a 9/10 rating on Steam, Dispatch is generating buzz, but what is it even about?
Set in modern-day Los Angeles, superpowered beings, aliens, and demons live alongside humans, where you play as a former superhero trying to make it by at a desk job at Superhero Dispatch Network. At SDN, you manage a group of reformed supervillains who are trying to earn redemption by managing their skills, abilities, and relationships, all while juggling your own. Participate in minigames based on incoming calls and assist in hacking the dispatch center, then choose the most suitable superhero based on their abilities. While there are plenty of choice-based games around, Dispatch stands out with its witty humor, charismatic characters, and a story that can take any direction based on the directions you give and the schedules you plan. At SDN, you get complete control of what happens.
While the story is a sight to behold on its own, Dispatch features a star-studded cast of voice actors that help bring it to life. Aaron Paul, known for his role as Jessie Pinkman in Breaking Bad, brings his unique charm to the game. Seán McLoughlin, better known as Jacksepticeye, adds his energetic personality to the mix. Other notable personalities include Jeffrey Wright, Laura Bailey, and Matthew Mercer, each bringing their own flair to the characters they voice. According to Riley Macleod on Aftermath, as you progress through the game, more complicated calls arise, and you need to think carefully about the decisions you make, considering every aspect of the situation and ensuring you send out the right person. Each small aspect that you need to consider keeps it intriguing and keeps the player on their toes. “But trying to make decisions with limited information and remember the details of your team, all while new calls pop up and Robert’s team argues with him and each other in the background, is hectic in an enjoyable way,” states Macleod.
While it isn’t available on every platform, you can find Dispatch on PC game stores like Steam and on the PlayStation Store for PS5 for $29.99. Take control of the narrative and make yourself feel like you’re in the DC universe, or maybe even The Boys. Take the lead in guiding new, slightly dysfunctional members to the super society and join the community of Dispatch fans to see what all the rave is about, honestly. Who knows what the following four chapters have in store for us, but fans trust it will continue to be good and better each week.
