Tori Gomez, Staff Writer
Hi, my name is Tori Gomez! I’m a senior at Quartz Hill High School, and this is my first and final year of Journalism. I can already say that I absolutely love this class. The creative freedom makes me really happy, since I place a lot of value on mental well-being and self-expression through a mix of the arts and academia.
I personally have a huge love for art and music. I play several instruments, draw, and write when I have the time. On the other hand, I do have a huge fascination with space and science as well; I think the universe is one of the most amazing things to think and learn about. I also hold my family, pet dog, friends, and experiences close to my heart, and do my best to enjoy life whenever possible.
4.29.22 Update
As a senior at the end of the year, it seems that all anyone talks about is college (which is fair), so I’ll let you in on that bit of my life. I have committed to Smith College, a historically women’s liberal arts college in Northampton, Massachusetts. They gave me a full ride, which helps a lot. Despite the absolute terror I feel about moving across the country from my mom, I’m actually really, really excited for it! I plan on studying astrophysics, though a plethora of other topics also interest me.Â
I’ve been spending a lot more time with my friends these days, and I still keep up with my hobbies. Some of them include consuming Haikyuu and MXTX content (especially Módà o Zǔshī), making a massive blanket for my mom, crocheting a bouquet of flowers, rocking out on the drums, and taking myself out on dates for the dopamine boost (something I think everyone should do).
