Samantha Redifer, Staff Writer
Hi everyone! My name is Samantha Redifer. This is my second year in Journalism and my senior year of high school. Most of my summer was spent doing summer school and preparing for college applications, but I was still able to travel. My family and I went to Canada, more specifically Montreal, Quebec, where we stayed for two weeks. We visited many cities inside and outside Quebec, and I even attended my first Formula 1 race in Montreal. For the rest of the summer, I took a summer class, volunteered, and practiced for the upcoming golf season (I play on the school team). Hobbies of mine include reading, listening to music, eating (does that count as a hobby?), and collecting all sorts of things (albums, books, and manga). I’m excited to be in Journalism again this year and hope to broaden my knowledge on all sorts of topics!
January 30, 2023 Update
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a good first semester and a fun winter break. My first semester was busy, as I had loads of college apps to do while balancing my school life and golf. When winter break came, I was excited about some much-needed rest. Even though I got that rest (by sleeping in until 11 A.M. every day), I still had college apps to finish, which put a damper on my break. If any underclassmen are reading this– start your college apps early, like during the summer after your junior year. Then, hopefully, you’ll be less stressed during the school year.
As the second semester begins, I’m trying not to get senioritis (like many of my friends already). It’s important for me to stay motivated throughout the year and ensure I end on a good note (it’s my last semester of high school, after all). I hope everyone has a rewarding and fun second semester!
