Nilesh Kumar, Print Editor
Hey Royals! I am Nilesh Kumar, a senior and four-year writer for the sports section of The Ubiquity. I’m also the editor of the physical newspaper, meaning I designed those paper ones you’ve been handed. I’m a member of the IB program and an AP scholar. I play soccer and volleyball for the school. I also play club volleyball for AV Impact as of right now. I’m an active member of several on-campus groups. Currently, I’m serving as Multicultural President, Science Olympiad VP, Art History Club President, and I am a member of many other clubs. As I begin my final year of Journalism, I hope to improve my writing skills and foster my passion for writing. I’m excited to continue producing quality articles and creating enjoyable newspapers!
January 30, 2023 Update
Hey Royals! I hope everything is going well with the start of the second semester. We’re almost there! If you’re a senior like me, now’s the perfect time to really let the senioritis kick in (not actually). Our college applications are over, so now we’re playing the waiting game. Just try not to let the grades slip too much.
I hope your break was eventful and an excellent way to relax after a long first semester. I spent mine in Singapore and India for a whole month, catching up with family I hadn’t seen in over five years. In reality, though, I spent most of my time in India finishing college applications, so I can’t consider it a “break” but more of a business trip. Even though India is hot, humid, mosquito-infested, and crowded, I’m always proud to call it my home, so it was a nice trip.
Aside from that, club volleyball is going really well. Our team qualified for nationals which are in Salt Lake City. I’m really excited about the high school season starting really soon. We have a good shot at winning the CIF this year, so that’s the goal.
Overall, things are going well, and I hope the same for you. Good luck with the rest of the semester!
